Who We Are

Sport Psych Corner is a sport, exercise, and performance psychology practice founded by Cheryl Grogan and Judy Fakhera. We support athletes, performers, professionals, teams, and neurodivergent individuals to develop psychological flexibility, resilience, wellbeing, and a healthier relationship with performance and pressure.

Our approach is collaborative, neuroaffirmative, and grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We aim to create psychologically safe spaces where individuals can explore their experiences, build self-awareness, and move towards what matters most to them both in performance and everyday life.

Cheryl Grogan

Hi I am Cheryl, a Performance Psychologist and founder of Sport Psych Corner.

Sport and performance has always meant more to me than what happens on the pitch, the track, or in a board room. It's about who we are beyond results, and how we want to show up each day.

My experience is with both adults and young people which spans across a wide range of sports, performance and professional settings, with a specialist interest in neurodivergence. By helping neurodivergent individuals understand their responses to the context they are in, I aim to collaborate with you to thrive, in any space.

Through neuroaffirmative and ecologically informed approach, I aim to create a psychological safe space to explore your experience in a way that suits your individual needs. Together, we explore what shows up in your body and mind, and the environment around you which may be contributing to that.

We work at your pace, drawing on awareness and acceptance approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you build a better relationship with your thoughts, feelings and sensations, helping you move towards your values and what genuinely matters to you.

Judy Fakhera

Hi, I’m Judy, a Performance Psychologist and founder of Sport Psych Corner.

Growing up, sport was where I felt most alive and most myself, and this has shaped my deep interest in performance, pressure, and the human experience behind sport. As the founder of Sport Psych Corner, I support athletes, performers, and high-performing individuals navigating the psychological demands that can come with performance environments. Alongside sport-specific work, I also support individuals outside of sport who experience similar performance demands in areas such as business and the performing arts.

My approach is grounded in acceptance- and values-based practice, particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This means I support people in relating differently to difficult thoughts, feelings, and bodily experiences, without the pressure to eliminate, control, or “fix” them. Instead, the focus is on building psychological flexibility and helping individuals move towards what matters to them, even in the presence of discomfort.

In our work together, I aim to create a safe, collaborative space where you can make sense of your experiences in both your body and your mind. My approach is grounded, relational, and paced, meaning we work at your speed, meet you where you are, and build a strong, trusting working relationship. There is no expectation to perform, optimise, or become a different version of yourself.

My aim is to support people to develop a more workable relationship with themselves so they can perform, connect, and live in ways that feel more aligned, sustainable, and meaningful.

Working Together

Sport Psych Corner was born from a shared mission: making sport, exercise, and performance psychology accessible to everyone.

We met during training and quickly discovered we share the same values and complementary strengths. Our neuroaffirmative, person-centred approach blends creativity with structure, supporting athletes of all abilities and neurotypes, plus coaches, parents, and business professionals.

We take a holistic view of what performance really means for each person.

  • Thank you so much for all your help. I have really been enjoying the sessions. I especially love the voice recordings you sent I listen to them usually before training or a match. I was able to recognise, understand, and view my anxiety in a whole new way. I've learnt to take advantage of it rather than see it as something that limits me. I have particularly enjoyed using the body scan before my athletics competitions; it has had a significant impact on both my daily life and sport.

  • “I came into the session with a different idea of what it would be like, but I actually found it much easier to express my views this time. I really appreciated having the space to share my perspective, even knowing it might be different from others.

  • I felt really great after the session and genuinely enjoyed it. I think we’re very lucky to have these sessions.

  • I’m really enjoying the sessions and feel a lot more comfortable connecting with players I didn’t know that well before. Before this, I’d usually just stick with the girls I already knew.

  • We had a wonderful time learning how different aspects of everyday life can influence our mood, body, and habits. They created a warm, welcoming, and judgement-free environment where everyone felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences. The sessions were engaging throughout, with plenty of lively discussions that even the children enjoyed. We had a fantastic time and gained lots of valuable support in learning new skills.

  • Really enjoyed the zoom sessions. I’ve always struggled with 5 and 10 year plans so found the visualisations and working backwards a really interesting approach and made it more tangible. I loved Cheryl and Judy’s styles, they were knowledgable, fun and engaging whilst being professional and would recommend them to anyone.
    Thanks so much xx
